Classic RSVP wording for a text or WhatsApp message

A classic text is the invitation's friendly follow-up: one household, their own link, the date to reply by, your names. Warm, brief, no emojis required.

Free, no account. Made by Vowlist — the guest list, budget and checklist are free; the RSVP link is $79 once, no subscription.

Three ways to say it

  1. Hi [Household] — it's [Names]. Our invitation should have reached you; here is your RSVP link for [Date]: [Link]. Could you reply by [Deadline]? Thank you!
  2. [Names] here. We would love to have you on [Date] — please tap [Link] to let us know by [Deadline]. Your names are already on it.
  3. Hello from [Names]! Quick one: your RSVP link for our wedding ([Date]) is [Link]. Reply by [Deadline] if you can. Thank you so much.

Placeholders in brackets — [Names], [Date], [Link], [Deadline], [Household] — are yours to fill; the generator below does it for you.

Questions about a text or WhatsApp message

Group chat or one message per household?

One per household. A group chat leaks who has and has not replied, and the link you send should be that household's own (their names prefilled). It is more messages, but each is one tap for the guest.

How short can it be?

Very. Who, when, where-ish, the link, the reply-by date. Anything longer belongs on the invitation or the RSVP page itself. The generator below stays under a text-message screen.

Is texting the invitation tacky?

Texting the RSVP link is not the same as texting the invitation. Many couples mail or email the invitation and then text the household link a few days later — the paper sets the tone, the text collects the reply.

The link the wording points to

Vowlist gives every household its own RSVP link — the family taps it, sees only their names, picks who is coming and what they eat, done. No app, no account, and we never email or message guests.
